Monthly Calendar
Usual Schedule of ServicesSunday
9:00 AM Matins, followed by Divine Liturgy
Matins (also called “Orthros”) is a morning service with readings and hymns illuminating the meaning of this particular Sunday.
The Divine Liturgy is the crown of our cycle of worship, and immediately follows Matins in our parish. The Lord assembles his people to be taught, to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and to participate in Holy Communion with God himself.
Wednesday
8:15 AM Matins (a very abbreviated adaptation to begin the day)
Saturday
5:00 PM Great Vespers, followed by Confessions
Vespers is the evening service, turning from the day just past to begin to reflect on the coming day. Great Vespers on Saturdays prepares us to celebrate the Lord’s Day on Sunday morning.
Orthodox Christians all need the Mystery of Holy Confession on a regular basis as they prepare to participate faithfully in Holy Communion. On Saturdays, we have an opportunity for people to come “first come, first served” for confessions. Confessions are also available by appointment.
Special Holy Days
6:00 PM Great Vespers or Vigils on the Eves
9:30 AM Divine Liturgy on the Day
